March 8, 2025 Sea Day #3
It is Sea Day #3 as we return to Tampa. Clocks went one hour forward to sync with Florida time, but tonight there will be another moving forward of the clocks to Daylight time.
Last evening there was a note in our mail slot to meet on Deck 11 Reflections Lounge at 9 a.m. to receive information about staying on the ship for the next cruise. The document officer explained the routine to complete the termination of this cruise, taking our passports for examination by U.S. immigration since the ship is returning from Mexico and the issuing of new Seapass card for the next cruise..
The sun was shining, there was some wind and the temperature felt like 23°C when we checked on the Deck 4 promenade. We had breakfast with Zegrid at the Elite breakfast buffet on Deck 5. Graham and Shawn also joined us. Today is themed Poolist Day Ever with lots of activities around the outside pool.
We climbed up to Reflections Lounge on Deck 11 for 9 a.m. for the gathering of people staying on for the next cruise. There will be 110 people continuing. We were given a letter with the procedure and reminded to use the old card when we leave the ship to go through Immigration, with our passports, then use the new card to return to the ship when instructed. Immigration needs to know that all passengers have disembarked before we will be allowed back onboard. If all goes well and the ship’s computer programs also have everyone off it should take just ten minutes.
The sun was shining so we walked a few laps of the jogging track on Deck 11. At 10 a.m. Larry went to the theatre for Samantha Olson’s presentation The Supernatural and New Orleans, while Claire went to the poolside line dance class on Deck 10.
Eleven o’clock saw a parade of staff and crew marching on decks 10 & 11 with flags of their countries, 54 countries were represented. There are staff and crew from several African countries, the Caribbean and many from the Philippines. That was followed by more line dances this time to Caribbean tunes. The sky had clouded over so it wasn’t as hot dancing on the pool deck as an hour before. There were three men and over a dozen women. Activities Manager, Charlotte, recognized the men giving each a navy blue rubber duck, labelled Poolist Day Ever. In the Lido buffet restaurant, there was a display of chocolate creations and fancy decorated cakes
We had lunch in the dining room on Deck 4. We chose the Pad Thai with shrimp and rice noodles and for dessert, key lime pie. Later we went to the Gelateria for our complimentary gelato, then sat in Café al Bacio for several games of Five Crowns.
We went to the Rendezvous for Happy Hour and danced to Pesta Pora before dinner. Already seated at our table were Irish and Cher, Peyton was still drying her hair. About 6:30 p.m. Beth and Randy came after sorting out their Celebrity Flys mixup. The entertainer this evening was the return of pianist Josh Christina with nine tunes from the 50s and 60s rock and musicals. At the end of his performance the Cruise Director, Sarah, reminded people about the change to Daylight Savings Time overnight. She also reminded people about the debarking procedure that notification of your luggage number being loaded into the terminal would be on the Celebrity app. We will have that procedure next week when our cruise ends. At bedtime on the TV the navigation channel indicated that we have traveled 1564 nm and there are 76 nm to go to get to Tampa.
Total steps : 10,293
